1st Year Degree: Street Project

I based this project on my experiences at a local graveyard, reflecting on the things I felt and saw.
Flowers were often laid at the graves which inspired me to use the symbolism of the lily and rose. The rose holds a stone texture, embracing the image of a grave stone along with its etchings.
The hands and arms are stained with paint, providing a sense that we all, one day, must face death. The paint also emphasises the formation, for example, the form of a cross.
Here I used photography, paper sculpture, paint and Photoshop.

Within this project I've also attempted Reportage Illustration and Life Drawing which has inspired me to enhance my experience of drawing outside of my comforts.
